Session Description

TEL thrives on interdisciplinarity, yet collaborative projects often suffer due to communication barriers between experts from diverse fields. This workshop addresses the critical need to communicate effectively with experts from other fields by demonstrating how tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) can serve as powerful tools for improving communication and collaboration skills. By immersing participants in interactive scenarios, we want to offer PhD candidates a creative method to experience and overcome common communication challenges, strengthen their ability to collaborate across disciplines while equipping them with practical strategies applicable to their professional endeavors, and learn to actively listen, be adaptable, and collaboratively solve problems. Engaging with TTRPGs encourages participants to explore new creative perspectives and adopt a more inclusive and adaptable mindset toward problem-solving in TEL and EdTech environments.
