About Erasmus+ mobilities

Erasmus+ can be used to fund participation in the EATEL summer school. Erasmus+ has multiple possibilities to fund the academic staff to participate in training events as learners (learning mobility) and instructors (teaching mobility).

However, this year we were not able to reach an co-hosting agreement with any local university in Crete. Therefore, not all mobility types are available for you.

Here is an example of Erasmus+ Mobility Agreement that EATEL can sign as a hosting organization: Staff Mobility For Training.

Any request should be first addressed to the Erasmus+ office (or International Relations office) of your own University before contacting the the responsible person in the Summer School organizing committee – Mikhail Fominykh, the Secretary of EATEL.

Who can apply for an Erasmus+ mobility

To be eligible for these funds, one must satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Affiliation Requirement: The applicant must be either a student or a staff member at an academic institution located in one of the Erasmus+ program countries.
  2. Erasmus Agreement: The applicant must have an active Erasmus agreement with their university that provides funding support. The funds to cover the cost of the Erasmus+ mobility are always granted by the sending organization.
  3. Eligibility by Role. Student: This encompasses all students up to the third cycle, including PhD candidates. Eligible students can apply for a “visiting student” mobility.
  4. Eligibility by Role. Staff: Individuals who are not students but are affiliated with an academic institution can apply for a “teaching staff” mobility.

How to apply for an Erasmus+ mobility

To utilize Erasmus+ funds for participation in activities like the EATEL summer school, it is imperative to ensure the following steps and conditions are met:

  1. Find out about the mobility funding at your home institution: Since the funding for Erasmus+ mobilities is always issued by the sending organization, please, contact the Erasmus+ office (or international relations office) at your home university for information.
  2. Mobility Agreement for an individual: This year, we are only able to sign “mobility agreements” for an individual. The agreement is between the applicant’s home university and the host organization (in 2025, this is EATEL). Here is an example of the agreement that EATEL can sign as a hosting organization: Staff Mobility For Training.
  3. Application for Individual Mobility Grant: After you confirm with your own university that it can allocate mobility funding to attend a training event with EATEL as a formal host, you can apply for your mobility grant. This application is made to the applicant’s home institution (the sending organization).
