  • PhD candidates need to be able to pitch their research topic in a convincing and well-structured way
  • PhD candidates get to know a multimodal skills training application and have the chance to test it
  • The topic is relevant in TEL / EdTech because it addresses the problem of software-support for training multimodal skills with e.g. automated feedback or reflection prompts

  • Learning how multimodal learning applications can help to: Prepare a short pitch of your research topic
  • Improve message composition skills
  • Improve nonverbal communication skills

Session Description
  1. Introduction + overview of the topic & project (10 min)
  2. Downloading / accessing the software (5 min)
  3. What do you want to say? – Using the message composition software to plan the pitch (24 min)
  4. Fill out a short survey about the software (9 min)
  5. How to present it? – Using the rehearsal software to train your pitch and improve your non-verbal communication (19 min)
  6. Fill out a short survey about the software (9 min)
  7. Present your pitch to a small group of other participants (14 min)
