Methodology Workshop

In this workshop we will offer an introduction to Group Concept Mapping (GCM). This is a structured methodology for organizing ideas of a group on any topic of interest and representing those ideas visually in a series of interrelated maps. GCM is suited for various topics, it is participant driven and can be done with small to medium sample sizes. This methodology could also be very helpful during the first stages of a PhD research project, if insufficient literature is available to do a proper literature review but if the requirement is to get a broad view and explore a certain theme or concept.

During the workshop we will introduce and demonstrate GCM by means of a digital literacy study example. in which participants will be able to hands on use the tools in an experiment. Additionally we will look for applying participants’ own ideas to GCM as they may bring their own research questions to the workshop where we will provide space to explore them.
