Needs Analysis
As a young researcher, you are already used to working on projects and writing your thesis, but have you thought about the next step? Did you think about starting your own project? Did you explore the opportunities available in Europe?
- Young researchers starting academic careers are very soon required to secure external public funding.
- Proposal writing skills are useful in your professional career in academia and beyond.
- You can gain the independence to choose a topic of study and research trajectory.
- Acquiring external funding through grants strengthens your professional profile.
- Writing funding proposals is one of the means to get external validation of the quality of your research and projects.
- International collaboration will help strengthen your community and networking.
- The components to rely on in your future career.
In this workshop we will delve into the available funding opportunities and accompany you on developing your ideas into project proposals!
Learning Objectives
After the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Navigate through the system of European funding.
- Feel confident about applying for European funding.
- Read and interpret the calls for proposals.
- Feel encouraged to form consortia and discuss ideas for project proposal.
- Elaborate their project ideas into structured proposals.
- Formulate their ideas in the language required and expected in funding proposals
Pre-activities
The participants will be asked to briefly describe their creative idea(s) for new TEL projects.
Session Description
The workshop will include the following activities:
- The instructors will present the European funding opportunities and resources about them
- The participants and instructors will explore and collaboratively interpret an example call for proposals.
- The instructors will share stories of successful project proposals.
- The participants will share and discuss with each other ideas for new TEL projects.
- The participants will form consortia and elaborating ideas under the supervision of the instructors
