How to apply for an Erasmus+ mobility

To utilize Erasmus+ funds for participation in activities like the EATEL summer school, it is imperative to ensure the following steps and conditions are met:

  1. Mobility Agreement: A crucial prerequisite is the existence of a “Inter-Institutional Agreement” between the applicant’s home university and the host institution (in our case, Burgas State University Prof. Assen Zlatarov). This agreement facilitates the exchange of students and staff.
  1. Role of International Relations Departments: Typically, the international relations departments of both sending and receiving institutions are instrumental in signing such agreements.
  1. Erasmus+ Documentation: Erasmus+ provides a digital system Erasmus dashboard and documentation to streamline the agreement process.
  1. Initial Steps for Applicants:
    • Contact the Department of International Relations: Interested individuals should first reach out to their department or office of international relations to ascertain if an Inter-Institutional Agreement is already in place between their home (sending) institution and the intended host (receiving) university.
    • Checking Agreement Status: If such an agreement exists, the applicant can proceed with the application process at their home institution. In the absence of an agreement, steps may be initiated by the international relations department to establish such an agreement first. Usually, international departments of universities can make these agreements at the request on the individual.
  1. Application for Individual Mobility Grant: Once the mobility agreement between the two universities is in place, eligible students or staff can apply for a grant to fund their individual mobility. This application is made to the applicant’s home institution (the sending organization) and must adhere to the guidelines, recommendations, and schedules set forth by the institution and the Erasmus+ program.

It is important for applicants to proactively engage with their respective departments and follow the established protocols to ensure a smooth application process for Erasmus+ mobility funding.
