The European Association of Technology-Enhanced Learning (EATEL) warmly invites doctoral researchers, teachers, educators, and practitioners in the field of TEL to join the 20th International Summer School on Technology-Enhanced Learning (JTELSS26)!

JTELSS is for the very first time in Bulgaria! Located on the beautiful Black Sea coast, Sunny Beach, Burgas is one of Bulgaria’s most vibrant tourist destinations, offering the perfect place for learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange. This summer school offers a unique opportunity to advance your expertise in Technology-Enhanced Learning, build connections with an international community of researchers and practitioners, and participate in dynamic, hands-on workshops and exchange ideas across disciplines. Whether you are a doctoral candidate looking to strengthen your research or an educator seeking practical strategies for integrating TEL in your classroom, JTELSS26 has something for you!

 

Application form: If you would like to participate in the summer school, we invite you to submit an application by filling in the JTELSS26 participant application form. If you are a PhD candidate or researcher, be ready to provide a description of your research (e.g., context and background, theoretical perspective, methods, and the expected results; limited to 2500 characters), so that we can evaluate its relevance to the field of Technology-Enhanced Learning. If you are a practitioner or administrator, be ready to provide a description of your interest in Technology-Enhanced Learning (limited to 2500 characters). We will also ask you about your motivation for applying (limited to 500 characters) to participate in the event. Completing the application form should only take 5-10 minutes.

We encourage you to apply early so that you can benefit from early acceptance and arrange your travel plans.

Authors of accepted workshops: Authors of accepted workshops also have to fill in the application form. All optional fields can be skipped. It should only take 5 minutes.

 

☕ Review: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We will try to review your submission and make a decision within one week after you submit this application.

 

Data protection: If your workshop proposal is selected, the information you submitted in the proposal will be published on the summer school website. The data you include in the submission form will be securely stored by Nettskjema in their own service, which is provided and operated by the University of Oslo in Norway. The submission data will be shared with the JTELSS26 Organizing Committee.

 

️ Costs & Funding: By default, summer school workshop organizers are expected to cover the costs of their trip and accommodation. These costs can be covered by internal university funds or by research projects. The costs can also be covered by Erasmus+ mobility funding, with the support of the Burgas State University Prof. Assen Zlatarov, the co-organizer of the EATEL summer school in 2026. Who is the EATEL summer school for?

The event is primarily designed for doctoral candidates and junior researchers working in the field of Technology-Enhanced Learning. Our program can also be of interest to teachers, practitioners, learning designers, technology developers, and policy makers.

JTELSS provides a tailored academic program with interdisciplinary discussions, interactive workshops, informal learning, networking, and the possibility to present your own work. Key focus areas include learning analytics, AI in education, adaptive learning, gamification, and more. This week-long event supports both introductory and advanced learning paths to fit diverse backgrounds and research interests.

JTELSS will provide you with knowledge on implementing TEL strategies in practice. Discussions and workshops will give you an overview and details of the challenges and opportunities in the field. The event will give plenty of time to interact with experts, share experience, and exchange knowledge.

Policymakers are welcome to apply and get an opportunity to engage with researchers and experts on the latest developments in TEL and the future of learning applications.
