Digitalizing Education: Automated Learner Feedback and AI-Assisted Summative Assessment

Saturday 17/05 11:00-12:30h
Workshop Space B
Session Description

Our workshop explores two TEL-driven projects. One focuses on AI-assisted assessment, drawing from the IMPACT project. It addresses how AI can reduce workload for educators by assisting in grading processes of free text submissions while tackling technical, ethical, and legal challenges. Participants will examine grading indicators, lecturer perspectives, and performance evaluation. The other introduces Ampel-Grader, an automated feedback provisioning service designed to support digital exercises in large-scale university courses through pre-submission self-checks for enhanced learning outcomes.

The workshop includes demonstrations, interactive discussions, and group activities, offering educators, researchers, and developers practical insights into the role of digitalization in supporting both teachers and students. In our session, we will co-design a learning unit utilizing automated feedback for self-regulated learning and AI-assisted summative assessment.
