Network methods to model educational data

Tuesday 13/05 14:00-15:30h
Workshop Space B
Session Description

This workshop will provide the PhD candidates with an overview of established and emerging network methods, such as Social Network Analysis (SNA), Epistemic Network Analysis (ENA) and Transition Network Analysis (TNA). Network methods become increasingly popular in technology-enhanced learning research, as they facilitate the modeling of complexity and temporality of learning.
This workshop will focus on (1) presenting the fundamentals of each methods, (2) what kinds of data is appropriate to be modeled with each method, and (3) what kind of research question can be answered. As such, this workshop will serve as a for guide PhD candidates to select appropriate network methods for their projects and an introduction to each method using practical exercises. In addition, we will provide participants with an extensive list of further resources on each method to deepen their knowledge.
