I am an Associate Professor in the Open Lab at Newcastle University. My research interest is improving interactions between humans and AI by integrating HCI approaches with AI technologies that facilitate effective collaboration and co-creation. I am particularly interested in intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) that enable and advance productivity, adaptability, participation, diversity, inclusion, and heterogeneity. I was the local organiser (web chair) for AIED2022 and EDM2022, workshop and tutorial co-chair for AIED2023, and proceedings chair for IoT2022.
