Sebastian Serth

Sebastian Serth is a Ph.D. student in the openHPI team led by Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI). In his research, Sebastian Serth focuses on programming MOOCs and supportive learning environments allowing students to solve programming exercises directly in the web browser. Further, he enables teachers to exchange those auto-gradable programming exercises with each other as part of the National Education Platform, initiated by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Sebastian has already supervised various online courses on the institute’s own platform openHPI as well as bachelor and master theses and courses at HPI. Previously, he worked on future use cases for artificial intelligence in communications for Huawei in a collaborative project with Stanford University and contributed his expertise to a more digitized federal administration in Germany.
