Martina Manna is a graduating PhD candidate and a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of L’Aquila. Her expertise is in linguistics, language didactics and education, with the focus on educational technologies. She also has a background in foreign languages and extensive experience of teaching Italian language in different international institutions. Martina is concluding a PhD on the implementation of Mobile Augmented Reality for the teaching of Italian language in Argentina. Her study focused on the analysis of teachers’ educational needs and value attribution during the processes of AR design and contextualization in the language classroom. Other research interests concern intercultural and multilingual education, as well as the study of linguistic landscapes and of their implications for language education. For her postdoctoral research she is currently working on the possibility to implement AI for language teaching in order to improve pragmatic competence skills in sequential bilinguals.
