Tallinn University is hiring: ERA Chair holder, Research Professor of Learning Analytics and Educational Innovation

Tallinn University (TU, www.tlu.ee/en) invites outstanding scholars to submit an application for a Research Professor of Learning Analytics and Educational Innovation. The position will be opened in the framework of the project CEITER: Cross-Border Educational Innovation thru Technology-Enhanced Research (ceiter.tlu.ee/about). The CEITER project is funded by the Horizon 2020 ERA Chair programme and it aims to foster excellent interdisciplinary research combining methods, instruments and experts from educational sciences, cognitive psychology, human-computer interaction, data science and learning analytics to increase TU capacity in research on technology-enhanced educational innovation.

 

The appointment is located in Tallinn, Estonia. The position is full-time for the period of April 2016 – June 2020, with a follow-up opportunity for tenure. The ERA Chair holder will be responsible for leading the Center of Excellence in Educational Innovation at the TU Institute of Educational Sciences. CEITER project provides ERA Chair holder with funds for the formation of a high-level international research group of 6 researchers focusing on technology-enhanced educational innovation. The Professor is expected to develop proposals for research grants, build networks with both academic and non-academic partners in research and technology transfer projects, publish in indexed journals, but also to teach at the postgraduate level, supervise PhD theses, as well as contribute to the staff training and curriculum development on innovative research based teacher education and related university services.

 

Desired skills and experience

A PhD in the respective area of interest or a closely related discipline is required. The candidate should demonstrate a strong research and leadership experience in the mentioned areas of interest. Publications in indexed journals and supervised PhD theses are mandatory. She/he must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English, no commitment regarding learning Estonian is expected. She/he possesses leadership and interpersonal skills to promote interaction and create an environment that fosters collegiality and teamwork.
